Emergency Care 

When the Surgery is closed please phone the new NHS line - 111 for urgent medical help or advice but not a life threatening situation.

For life threatening situations please dial 999.

Home Visits
Telephone 01579 335320 – The doctors do home visits when clinically necessary; it is helpful to request visits before 10.00am, then a Doctor will return your call.  This call from the Doctor is not available if your telephone does not accept calls from "number withheld" callers. 

Cancel your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

Please telephone 01579 324242 to book a Telephone Call Back from Doctor.  All calls are now being recorded and monitored for patient care and training purposes.

Dispensary

Please allow three working days for prescriptions to be processed. There is now a box to enter your patient number on the patient detail page of the Repeat Medication Manager.

Dr Stephen Jefferies (m)
MB, ChB (1980) Qualified from Liverpool University in 1980. He has an interest in child health, diabetes, mental health, and is a member of the Local Medical Committee.
Dr Graham Toms (m)

MB, BS (1984) MRCGP Qualified from University College Hospital in London 1984. He represents the Practice on the Cornwall Commissioning Group. He has an interest in ear nose and throat (ENT), and works at Bodmin Hospital ENT Department. He also works as an Occasional Expedition Doctor on trips abroad.

Dr Emma Mantle (f)
MB, ChB (1995) Qualified from Bristol University in 1995. She has a special interest in cardiology. She currently works on Mondays and Thursdays.
Dr Chris Gilbert (m)
MB, BS (1997) MRCGP Qualified from St Mary’s Hospital, London in 1997. He is interested in all aspects of General Practice and is involved in our research programme. He currently works four days a week.
Dr Bianca Yu (f)

MB, ChB(2002) MRCGP Qualified from Birmingham University in 2002. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, with a special interest in family planning.

Dr Rehan Symonds (m)

MB, BS (2002) MRCSEd, MRCGP Qualified from University College, London in 2002. He has a special interest in minor surgery, joint injections and prescribing . He is involved in our research programme and works four days a week.

Dr Ben Basterfield (m)
MBChB MRCP MRCGP Qualified from University of Birmingham in 2000. Enjoys all aspects of general practice with interests in elderly care medicine and palliative care.
Dr Katie Conway (f)
MB, BCh (1991) MRCGP Qualified from University of Wales College of Medicine Cardiff in 1991. She is a family planning specialist and works as a salaried GP. She enjoys cooking and handicrafts, likes dogs and getting away to New Zealand to visit family.
